Thank you for volunteering your time at St. Augustine School.   We couldn't do all that we do and do it so well without YOU!  Following are volunteer procedures for lunch/recess duty:

All Volunteers

All volunteers report at 12:10; sign in at the office and get an ID badge. All volunteers go to the hall to help set up and distribute hot lunch.

Volunteers must ALWAYS wear gloves in the hall. 

After the students return to afternoon lessons, all volunteers report to the hall for cleanup.  Wash the tables and push them and the chairs against the wall.  Please sign out at the office at 1:05 PM and return the ID badge.  

Each teacher has a rainy day recess policy that you need to be familiar with.  No students are allowed to run indoors, visit other classrooms, or congregate in the halls.  Encourage the children to use the restroom (no more than one at a time) during indoor recess.

Lunch and recess monitors earn 1 hour toward the 20 hour requirement every time they serve.  Volunteers who are scheduled to work and are unable to attend are urged to contact the school office as soon as possible.  Because this role is so critical to a safe and efficient lunch/recess time for our students, volunteering through the end of the school year is greatly appreciated.

All lunch and recess volunteers must be in compliance with the Archdiocesan requirements (STAND) for volunteers who have substantial contact with children and agree to respect each child’s privacy.

Volunteer Commitment Requirement:

In order to more actively involve parents in the daily activities of               St. Augustine School and to offset tuition costs and offer teachers and aides time away from the classroom for their lunch, each St.  Augustine family is required to donate twenty (20) hours of volunteer service per school year. Families may choose to pay $20 per hour or $400 per school year in lieu of volunteer hours.   For more information, visit our Volunteer Commitment page.
